Dr. Gulshan Karamchandani was born and raised in North Carolina, has worked in New York City and Seattle WA, and now calls Georgetown home. Dr. Karamchandani completed her optometry degree at the same school as Dr. Salone, the Pennsylvania College of optometry. She then completed her residency in ocular disease/primary care at the SUNY College of Optometry thru the VA Hospitals in Brooklyn and Queens. Dr. Karamchandani also is a strong believer in giving back and has led and participated in several international clinic trips (Trinidad, Jamaica, and Haiti to name a few) to provide free eyecare for those in need.
Dr. Karamchandani is thrilled to be working at TSO Georgetown with pediatric specialist, Dr. Grace Salone. She is available to see adult patients for full comprehensive eye exams, especially to detect those with but not limited to glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, and other ocular conditions that may be a manifestation of a systemic condition (ie: autoimmune diseases) or those that take medications that may have serious ocular side effects. Dr. Karamchandani believes patient education is very important and working together is key!
